Bliss Coleman

About

With patience and precision, she renders cherished homes and neglected across Colorado onto small wooden panels in stunning detail. Peering closer, one is amazed by the textures, shingles, and trim work recreated at a miniature scale.
Bliss' creations tell the hidden histories nestled within familiar neighborhoods. They remind us to pause and appreciate the architecture all around us - from stately Victorians to humble bungalows. Although time may fade paint or warp siding, Bliss preserves these places through her artwork. Future generations will know the contours of our Colorado streets as they once stood.
Bliss finds magic in the mundane. She transforms neighborhood eyesores into masterpieces, imbuing character into plain facades. Her hyper-local focus shows how the unique emerges from the everyday. No two boards are identical, as no two communities or residents share identical stories.
Through her artwork Bliss breathes new life into old landscapes. She teaches viewers to look closer and see each home, each story, and each life lived within as a tiny work of art. Bliss' miniature replicas remind us all is not as it seems - and within the ordinary lies extraordinary tales waiting to be told.
